It is so interesting to see what coaches are thinking and saying about Cam McEvoy's training and how it should relate to teenagers/age groupers. And you read all the same answers from people about building the base, they need to swim more than 1 event, Cam has a huge base, not every kid is a sprinter, blah blah blah. Not a single coach said, "We have a special group of swimmers that like to sprint and we are doing 100% sprint stuff." IT'S ABOUT KEEPING AGE GROUP SWIMMERS IN THE SPORT! But here's the proof that swimming - at least at the high school level - continues to grind and pound and destroy sprinters - just like we always have.
