@phillingit It's definetely not pretty, no wonder he probably tried to do that ❤️. My mum is still here (fair assumption absolutely don't worry, please!) although this week has been very hard. I definetely see it all as her only carer. We just got referred to a hospice today hence the flyer

The way people dying of cancer are portrayed in film, media or even advertising genuinely pisses me off sometimes.

@tiredrej I'm sorry for your loss too 💔 Cancer suck always. I was a kid back then, so maybe he shielded us from the worst of it and showed us his fun and carefree side. But it's definitely different for most people, it's not pretty

@phillingit Oh, I'm glad to hear he was like that, and I am very sorry for your loss 💔 I hope it helped him. Don't get me wrong I definetely wish more people could be like that, for their own wellbeing, it's just not something I personally see a lot, sadly.

@tiredrej yes, it's the polished and acceptable version. I guess sometimes it's accurate too. My dad was a jokester kind of man and I remember him being quite content through it all. He didn't receive any treatment though, which I think is more painful and gives hope
