🚨 TOYOTA JUST MADE A CAR KEY SO CONFUSING… DEALERSHIPS HAVE TO TRAIN PEOPLE HOW TO UNLOCK THEIR DOOR A full-grown adult has to explain how to unlock a car door using the new Toyota card key. The key card literally has instructions printed on it. Angle the card. Find the “right spot.” Try again. Like you’re diffusing a bomb. Even he can’t get it on the first try: “Not working… not working right.” Now people will be standing outside their own car… waving a card around hoping it works. How did Toyota just make a car key WORSE?

A month ago when I was using this tool I thought I was building something dope and suddenly it erased everything that started in the app and had placeholders left of the new feature I asked for… Reminds me of what happened when I used Claude code a few months back in Xcode. So far Replit hasn’t let me Down at all.

This is the part Replit, Lovable, and Bolt should be losing sleep over. Google AI Studio now ships with the Antigravity coding agent built in, Firebase for auth and databases, and one-click Cloud Run deployment. The entire pipeline from “describe your app” to “it’s live on the internet with a working backend” runs inside one browser tab. Free tier. No credit card. The vibe coding startups charge $15-39/month and still require you to stitch together Supabase, Netlify, and two or three other services before anything actually works in production. Users on Bolt have reported burning $1,000+ on a single project when debugging cycles eat through token budgets. Lovable and Bolt both hit a complexity wall around 15-20 components where the AI starts losing context and making destructive changes. Google just bundled the entire backend those companies never built. This is the same playbook Google ran on email, maps, and cloud storage. Give it away free, make it the default, wait for the market to reorganize around your infrastructure. The vibe coding startups built better creation experiences. Google built the deployment layer those prototypes always needed. The gap Google is exploiting: every startup in this space built a great front door and a mediocre production experience. Google built a mediocre front door sitting on top of the best production infrastructure in the world. They paid $2.4 billion for the Windsurf team to fix the front door. The startups are still trying to build their own backend. One of those problems is easier to solve. And the company with 20+ million developers already on its platform gets to solve it with distribution the startups will never match.

Right now it’s helping those with deep subject matter expertise scale higher, stronger and faster. This does hurt anyone who was doing more monotonous low value tasks for sure. It also hurts the new workforce and their prospects unless their using it to learn and build their own SME

@ManusAI if you can tap into my creator account and help manage an optimize it for me so that it finds an algorithm worth creating for with the stuff I’ve created so far that would be pretty wild and useful because then I could better see what I should be creating how I should be creating it and who I should be creating for

This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write. I’m completely devastated. Last Friday, I️ was notified that my monetization had been paused. I’ve shown up on this app for 5 years straight every single day to grow my account to what it is now. I️ never once paid for ads, never bought followers, never did anything but grow in an organic way. After appealing once, I️ was told my account was removed due to spam and inauthentic content. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I️ spend 6-12 hours on X daily in addition to my full time job; creating content, interacting and posting. I’ve adapted to new algorithms, posting strategies and even started a newsletter. I️’ve stopped using any other online platforms as I️ truly value the freedom and community X has brought me. Every single holiday, family event, vacation, wedding, birthday, you name it, I’ve been active on X during it. I’ve never once taken for granted the audience I’ve grown on this app and have thoroughly enjoyed the relationships I’ve built because of it. During this last period in which I️ was removed, I️ proposed to my girlfriend of 7 years. During this proposal trip, I️ stayed active online the entire time, which is nothing new. I have given up years of time to create something bigger with no regret. But now, after being denied and repeatedly called a spam account, with no way to plead my case, my last resort is to post here. Having to do this publicly feels so pathetic. It’s been almost a week and 2 appeals later, and I️ can’t get in touch with anyone who’s willing to help. I haven’t been given any clarification of where I️ went wrong or if there is a pathway to resolution. How can I️ dedicate myself so profoundly to something for so many years without being given any chance to make a simple change in my form of content? I’ve never had my account flagged or even been told of any misconduct in a 5 year period. The first I️ hear of an issue is ironically on pay day after spending hours upon hours working online during my vacation. I️ don’t expect everyone to be able to understand the severity of this situation because they will never see the time, sacrifices and work put into growing an account from 0 followers to over 260k. I️ can’t begin to explain the things I’ve sacrificed to get to the point of being a creator and I️ can’t help but feel like the platform has failed me. To you, this may just be a lighthearted meme account you follow. To me, this has altered my life. I️ was committing to go full time on X and even put in notice at my full time job. It is every content creators dream to be able to take this on full time, and to have it taken away from you almost as soon as you got it, feels gut wrenching. Over the last 2 years I’ve told everyone how important it is to get a blue checkmark, pay for premium and begin to monetize their account. I️ couldn’t have been louder about how much I️ love this platform and truly felt it was the only platform worth being on. The freedom I️ was given was amazing up until now. I️ truly never thought something like this would happen. All of this to say, I️ am not a spam account and I️ deserve reconciliation. I️f there is a specific thing I’ve done wrong, I️ will adapt my content to no longer do so. But a permanent suspension with a false reasoning will never be okay with me. I️ would hope that you are also not okay with taking away the livelihood of the creators on a platform that prides itself on free speech. @XCreators @premium @x @elonmusk @nikitabier

Apple’s $109 billion services business has a $2 billion blind spot, and it’s been sitting in plain sight for a decade. This tweet is from December 2024. Apple was “reportedly considering” cellular on a MacBook. Lenovo shipped 5G laptops in 2021. Dell has an entire “Connected PC” program with Verizon plans at $30/month. Apple’s own $349 iPad has a cellular SKU. Apple makes six iPad models with cellular options. They clearly understand people want always-on connectivity in portable hardware. They just decided the MacBook doesn’t count. The MacBook is the one Apple product people carry outside their house specifically to work online, and it has zero Apple subscription tied to connectivity. Every MacBook owner solves internet access the same way: pull out the iPhone, turn on the hotspot, drain the phone battery, deal with a connection that drops when the screen locks. Apple’s official solution to “how do I get my laptop online” is “buy a second Apple product and tether it.” Run the math on what they’ve been missing. Apple sells roughly 22 million Macs per year. 86% are laptops. That’s 19 million MacBooks annually. If only 20% of buyers opted into a bundled $15/month 5G plan activated through their Apple ID, that’s 3.8 million new cellular subscriptions per year. $684 million in recurring revenue from new subscribers alone, compounding as the installed base grows. Three years in, you’re past $2 billion annually at services margins north of 70%. Apple built the entire services playbook around this: attach recurring revenue to hardware. Music, storage, TV, fitness, insurance, payments. Every device gets a subscription. The MacBook, their highest-ASP portable product, gets nothing. One reason: Qualcomm. Apple paid a percentage of device selling price for modem patents. On a $1,099 MacBook Air, that licensing fee scales in a way that kills the margin on a $15/month plan. Apple spent seven years and billions building an in-house modem to escape that cost structure. The C1 shipped in the iPhone 16e in early 2025. The C2 arrives later this year. The cellular MacBook is reportedly coming this year. But the hardware is the easy part. The real moment is when Apple offers “MacBook Connect: $15/month, one tap, billed to your Apple ID.” They already negotiate carrier rates. They already have eSIM infrastructure. They already bill 1 billion paid subscriptions. A $2 billion recurring revenue line was blocked by a single licensing deal for a decade. That deal is dead. The subscription math was always there.

Just to be abundantly clear: It only appears on Replies and it will be used purely for ranking & personalization of that section. The Reply Algorithm is currently is the worst product in the company. There is no logic, no signal, just garbage. Replies could be ordered randomly with crypto spam at the top and it would probably be better than the current system.

Reddit Lies

This is a bad idea. One of the reasons Reddit is so bad was because of the upvote/downvote system. If dislikes suppress posts in the timeline, X will rapidly descend into an echochamber.
R A W S A L E R T S@rawsalerts

🚨#BREAKING: X (formerly Twitter) has officially begun rolling out a new “Dislike” button for replies. Dislike counts won’t be visible publicly instead, they’ll be used privately to help improve reply rankings and overall conversation quality, similar to how Reddit’s downvote system works.

NEW: Utah woman who wrote a book about grief after her husband died has been found guilty of murdering him. According to prosecutors, Kouri Richins put 5x the lethal dose of the synthetic opioid into a cocktail that her husband Eric Richins drank. Prosecutors also say Richins said she was $4.5 million in debt and thought that if she killed him, she would inherit his estate worth $4 million. She was also seeing another man. Richins attempted killing her husband on another occasion where she gave him a fentanyl-laced sandwich that made him black out. Before she was arrested in 2023, Richins published the book “Are You with Me?” and promoted it on local TV and radio stations. Prosecutors say this was an attempt to cover up the murder. Richins is scheduled to be sentenced on May 13.
