Hi @observerug. The vehicle didn't knock by itself, the person driving it did. So the driver knocked dead a pedestrian. Just like guns do not shoot themselves, nobody reports "gun shoots person dead". Hold people accountable & we shall be half way through our road safety woes.
The Observer@observerug

Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development Judith Nabakooba’s vehicle, yesterday, April 1, 2026, knocked down and killed a pedestrian, Flavia Batera, a resident of Kyengera at about 8:30 am at Kibukula swamp along the Kampala–Masaka highway. The minister and her driver sustained minor injuries, according to the police #RoadSafety

It is a shocking and dark day for the parents and the school of Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre. According to available information, the suspect, identified as Christipher Okello Onyum, allegedly carried out a brutal attack at the school, stabbing four young children to death. The victims have been identified as Odek Ryan (1½ years), Oteke Gideon (2½ years), Keisha (2 years), and Ignatius Sserunyange (2½ years). There were 14 children at the school at the time, 4 were killed while 10 were safely reunited with their parents. It is said that the suspect allegedly visited the school seeking admission and was asked to return. He reportedly came back today, paid the admission fees and later left and started stabbing kids. I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the children whose lives were tragically lost. This is an unimaginable loss, and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone. May the young souls rest in peace, and may their families find strength and comfort during this profoundly difficult time.
