Hawthorn are required to follow the AFL count.
They are not following Ch7’s count or Champion Data’s count.
Why should Hawthorn be penalised for a potential AFL error?
As far as Hawthorn is concerned they could make 1 more interchange.

The AFL haven’t even bothered re-checking the numbers and if forced to, will have no other option than to overturn the game result. Check the rule book. It’s exactly what happened to Freo.

Ch7 and Champion Data says they did by 1.
That alleged 1 interchange was right on the siren.
Hawthorn didn’t gain any advantage.
If we want to be technical, let’s review every free kick paid and not paid during the game

@CalTwomey The AFL tends to offer assistance to teams that have been struggling for a number of consecutive seasons - Essendon hasn’t.
This time 2 years ago Essendon was sitting 2nd on the ladder.
Last season they were injury ravaged.
I'm not sure they would qualify for assistance.
