With the recent ban on fable 5 we witnessed the government interfering to prevent "commoners" from accessing something of enormous capabilities. I think it's ridiculous that one of the founders of OpenAI, director of AI at Tesla, and a guy who's the best teacher in AI, Andrej Karpathy, wouldn't be allowed to use the best model, even after being a part of the company that's developing it. There has never been more need of open-source models than right now. Open-source has to win or it's not going to be good for the rest of us.
