@mog_kar @SweetmanGroup Thanks! This is actually field evaporation, rather than field emission. For this tip, we got stable imaging at 10.4 kV and then increasing the tip bias above this to 11.0 kV, the tungsten atoms field evaporated as you can see in the video

There's something about seeing atoms move in real time! Here we see the atomic-scale structure of a tungsten STM tip changing in our field ion microscope when some of the atoms are field evaporated #RealTimeChem #AtomicResolution

@Sigma_Troll Can't believe they're making DFT so obviously pay to win! All the rich kids will be using vdW corrections or playing as Darth Maul, whereas us regular folk have to grind for 100 hours just to do an LDA calculation. Smh
