Wow! What a start to Science week at Phoenix Primary. We had “Erica Explosive” from Mad Science come into school and show us some fantastic investigations. The children and staff loved it and knew that “It’s not magic, it’s science!”

@year3phoenix Well done to group one. We all had a fantastic time at Everton Nature Garden. Thanks to Izzie and Adam who showed us some amazing things and were impressed with the children’s science knowledge. The pizzas were brilliant and I hope all the children enjoyed them for their tea!

The first group loved their trip to Everton Nature Garden today as part of their food 4 thought work shop learning all about plants and where food comes from. Ending by making a delicious pizza to top it all off! The second group is looking forward to their visit next week!

Born today 1913 Choh Hao Li Chinese-born U.S biochemist who discovered in 1966 that human pituitary growth hormone (somatotropin) consists of a chain of 256 amino acids. In 1970, he succeeded in synthesising this hormone, the largest protein molecule synthesised up to that time.
