Finally got all my airplane kits out of storage, here are some pictures of the boxes that contain some amazing airplanes - cant wait to start the build logs!
First build will be the three slowsticks, one for @phoolpatti_, one for @abs192 and one for me :). Get ready to train guys!

day 6 (yesterday) got a lot done, primary focus was getting back into rc, and testing and logging the status of the components.
First was TX, backed up the SD Card contents on my Radiomaster TX16S MKII and then upgraded EdgeTX to Upgraded to latest edge tx (EdgeTX "Queen Anne's Revenge" v2.12.2).
Connect to my almost decade old asus strix windows laptop, updated steam and RealFlight Evolution and to my surprise it everything just worked. Here is my sim flight, a little bit rust but we should be back to hovering that AJ Slick in no time! Excited to get @phoolpatti_ & @abs192 flying on the sim soon!

@evsubr @jarredsumner I’m happy to know the washing machine is worth the money we spent on it!

Day 3 started quite early, about 7:15 to be exact when I found @jarredsumner finally published the bun-to-rust blog post. Honestly it was an amazing read. I fully intend to revisit it a few times more, it inspired me to try out subagents - something I knew existed in codex was a while now but nevertheless I never got around to using it.
I moved oak app from rn-async-storage to rn-mmkv and the experience was amazing. Adding some important features to my list of prompts for when 5.6-Sol releases today.
Otherwise the morning was fairly calm, blog post replaced poor charlies almanack today, running some experiments on our washing machine + dryer for optimal laundry results (lol) 5.5-Pro is reading the manual and guiding me to my desired output of fluffy soft and fragrant clothes.
Same excellent coffee, lets begin!

Day 2 eod update
Learning: finished ch3, chain rule starts tomorrow
Oak: Yesterday spent some time reorganizing github board and closing stale issues much better now, today first closed out some important user requests and built a util to make support faster. In addition to this merged 4 bug fixes - pushed release to tomorrow so could merge a few more enhancements/bug fixes
Build: Spent a lot of time designing and planning build out of two new projects, one I am calling Ekagrata. Some thoughts I wrote down:
Over the past several weeks I have tried Hermes & OpenClaw and I could never get myself to use these seemingly excellent tools. I love codex and claude but it was never seemed like the full picture either. Chat does not feel like the final boss of Personal AI, it might be a big part but probably not the central part. Unprompted intelligence will be important, so will be the ability to customize the UX to what feels natural to every user. UX is what brought me to building websites almost 15 years ago, and it will be a guiding light in Ekagrata as well.
Ekagrata will be my app to help me grow and keep me focused to my above mentioned work streams. Personal productivity tools are perhaps a right of passage for every developer, and something that can become ever consuming :). But if built right I hope it becomes the catalyst to preserving my focus and crystallizing it into something unbreakable that no attention-seeking app can ever take away from me.
Fun Fact: I built "Flow" a pomodoro task tracker at goldman as part of my NAPA hackathon and won that hackathon! And guess what Umesh Subramanian (now CTO of Citadel, ex-partner at Goldman) commented on my launch blog post, what a wild time that was!
Ekagrata will be open source when I feel its useful enough for me, with hope that it inspires others to build their own Personal OS. Personal OS is such a loaded term - for me though its a system which helps me achieve my goals, helping just enough but not achieving the goal for me! I hope in the end Ekagrata helps you achieve your goals too.
P.S. ChatGPT helped go over my invoices from 2022 and helped build out the inventory and plan for testing all the Li-Po's and electronics for the unboxing madness that will be this weekend!

@evsubr @3blue1brown just glad, I won’t have to teach our future kids Math as their dad is already putting in all the hadd work! I can get you an R.D Sharma soon!

Day 2 begins, prepared a pot of some excellent coffee given to us by one of our customers (A Planters Daughter). Time to get back to ch3 Essence of Calculus by @3blue1brown
Trying to sneak in a chapter of Poor Charlie’s Almanack in the mornings - finished talk 4 Practical thought about Practical Thought? And it was a super fun read.
Starting the learning section of the day with some questions (probably stupid) to ChatGPT Pro (overkill!), but it’s been a decade since I did math and I wanted to really understand things so here is my list:
1. How was pi discovered and why is 2 pi r?
2. Why was the definition of area of a rectangle bxh and square x2 ? What is the history behind it?
3. And why is the area of triangle 1/2xbxh - for right triangles it makes sense as it would be half of a rectangle, does it hold true for non right triangles as well?
4. What is a tangent of the graph and how was that discovered?

Addicted to X, and Youtube again! My day would involve scrolling X, or watching youtube in the background during work (curse of multiple screens). Codex helped us ship consistently, but while it wrote code goal after goal, I was consuming content! slowly eroding the last bits of my focus and attention. Sometimes it takes an existential crisis to see things clearly and I am glad that it happened!
I believe now more than ever, that a team with focus can change the world. Operation First Light (thanks Fable! for the name) is my plan to regain my focus and maintain it every day, starting from the first light of the morning till night.
Four streams everyday: (1) Learn (nn, rl, cuda, drone autonomy, and more), (2) Oak (continue shipping for our amazing customers), (3) Ship More Products & Experiments, (4) Document progress
Weekends are for getting back into aeromodelling, i started building rc airplanes while at school in 2009 when we didn't have much money and I would cut up old pieces of plastic to make control horns and use coroplast to build airframes, gave it up when i joined eng at goldman. When I left goldman in 2022 used a small chunk of my bonus to buy all the airplane kits that I wanted but never could as a kid, they've been gathering dust these past 4 years while we built our startup (including 4 original GWS Slowstick kits, the plane I learnt to fly on!). Saturdays to build, sundays mornings to fly with @phoolpatti_ & @abs192!
Day 1 was today and it went well! onwards to day 2!

when you get access to gpt-5, try a message like "use beatbot to make a sick beat to celebrate gpt-5".
it's a nice preview of what we think this will be like as AI starts to generate its own UX and interfaces get more dynamic.
it's cool that you can interact with the synthesizer directly or ask chatgpt to make changes!
