Runner success strategy: Step one is getting out the door. Step two is nailing the key workouts. Step three is going with the flow and knowing everything won't always go exactly as planned but stay the course and the results will come.

What I know about S&C for athletes: 1. You’re not bodybuilders, you’re athletes! 2. Squatting will ALWAYS be greater than ladder drills! 3. Form and speed is more important than weight! 4. Serious athletes take fueling their bodies, hydration, and recovery VERY seriously!

@stevemagness I’ve completely eliminated our mid-week race schedule. Too much racing wears physical and mental at this age.

Even when half the team is out of town, the crew still gets up early on a holiday to get that grind on when they are in town. It’s more than a decision, more than dedication; that is what I call devotion!

@BurnsAndGambo Look up every 2nd round selection for the Suns for the last 20 years. Look at the names. 100% garbage. 2nd round picks are worthless. Even more worthless when these kids are one and done. 2nd round picks are not future assets. They are a waste of time.

Love these hard-working kids. So worth getting up in the morning to work with them! Love my job.

NO CHEATING (unless personal image) Brighten up or worsen my day with the 6th most recent pic in your camera roll. Don’t explain unless I ask you to, then repost this with the number I give you.

“Coaching isn’t about you. Coaching is about the athlete. I think it’s always a sign of danger when you make any situation about you rather than about the coaching or about the team. It’s never about you. It’s about something way bigger." Vince Anderson athletesinaction.org/quickhits/a-co…

@azc_obert @azcentral We love Matt. I’ve had him in Track and he is a fantastic young man. I just know we will see big things from him this year and the future.

I love coaching athletes who view practice, weights, mtgs & conditioning as a chance to out-work opponents instead of a chore or punishment. I “get to” instead of “I have to”.
