In 2022, Nadhim Zahawi’s solicitor sent me a libel threat - and said I wasn’t even allowed to say he’d written to me. The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal ruled that was improper. Now he’s appealing. A 🧵 on why it matters.

@SpacedTV It’s definitely up there. One needs to have a completely open mind to engage with this level of comedic genius. But it’s totally worth it.

@phuecn That "lecturing" seems to largely revolve around folks not liking that the truth often conflicts with their preferences. Platforms like X have no business or other connection to reality. So people feel great hearing from an algorithm designed to feed what they want to hear.

This platform is reaching absurd heights of mis and disinformation in all directions. Someone shares an opinion and it turns into a news report. This is precisely why we need legacy news orgs who invest in reporting and seeking primary sources.

@MJBiercuk Agreed. But the same is also true of this platform and other similar ones. Legacy media has a partisan issue, and that puts people off. They don’t want to feel as though they’re being lectured at. On the whole platforms like X and others don’t have this problem.

@phuecn Just because something is cited as having value doesn't mean it has no problems. No need to only take extremal views.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський
We are very grateful to the United States for all the support. I’m thankful to President Trump, Congress for their bipartisan support, and American people. Ukrainians have always appreciated this support, especially during these three years of full-scale invasion.

Will the US forego its commitment to NATO in the event of an all out war against its transatlantic partners? We may be about to find out. 5/5

Trump is a leader, but he is leading the US and possibly the rest of the free world into a dangerous situation. 🧵 1/5

To those who are championing the use of AI as a “tool” or even “generator” for the creative industries: A. I don’t believe it is sustainable. & B. You are ushering in an era impoverished with true creativity. bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/20…
