I'm off to threads - @physicscoyle. Gonna leave Elon, his right wing click bait and ill educated tweets to his new echo chamber. Shame, I used to love twitter to connect on science and education.

Social media without regulation will one day be compared to early 20th century tobacco industry without regulation… discuss …”A polarisation engine’: how social media has created a ‘perfect storm’ for UK’s far-right riots theguardian.com/media/article/…

Our country needs to hear this right now… This is Jonathan Miller taking on Enoch Powell Calling out the baselessness of racial fear and hatred …and we need our leaders to follow suit.

Camping - not for the first time - and my son genuinely asked if he had a plug socket in his 'room' to charge his kindle. #disappointed #campfireyoutube

I need a stop near the M5 around this sort of area tomorrow. Weston Super Mare type area. 4 children, probably need a run around or a play. Any parks? Country parks? National trust sites? Twitter always comes up with better suggestions than google!

As a MAT, we've been working to give T&L guidance to our schools Its crucial they have the agency to make it their own but we wanted to capture the best theory and practical implications somewhere Its culminated in our T&L Framework You can find it here teachsolutions.uk/files-and-docu…

@Crapule68 @sputniksteve @physicoyle @A_Weatherall Uniform policies are increasingly arbitrary impositions rather than being about supposed professionalism in adulthood We will soon be in a position where the only adults wearing ties are secondary school teachers who feel obliged because they have to enforce tie rules on pupils

@sputniksteve @ajjolley @Crapule68 That is perhaps a bullet dodged! Did she have a system like at a wedding where you have to wait for the groom to take off his jacket first? I tend to take my jacket off once the class is in, roll my sleeves up and look like a low grade PM on a trip to a hospital

@physicoyle @ajjolley @Crapule68 I once had an interview at a school which insisted men wear jackets all day. It was June and it was hot. I took my jacket off during the interview. I didn't get the job and when I asked for feedback, headteacher rolled her eyes and told me I shouldn't have taken my jacket off.

@ajjolley @Crapule68 @sputniksteve Well every secondary school I have worked in over the last 19 years has expected a tie, the only leeway has been smart trousers over a full suit. The only secondary school in the trust I worked in that accepted no ties was the SEMH school.

Coming back to London next week. Looking forward to seeing the grand-kids, walking in the parks, seeing a movie, using the Underground, getting a coffee, going in to work, meeting colleagues, hoping that tomorrow doesn’t belong to people like this…

Back to the UK tomorrow. I’ve never had such dread about Britain. Coming back to London and knowing how unpleasant it’ll be. The demographic changes and feeling that 🇬🇧 is most against Brits. The lack of functional media. The feeling something big has to happen to restore order.
