I rarely highlight disinformation
but this post deliberately mixes half-truths to set the tone meningitis is not dangerous
I’m worried many people I trust follow this account.
(Example of how @bbchealth not manipulating & highlighting complexity here: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…)
Dr Clare Craig@ClareCraigPath
It is outrageous the way the BBC are manipulating people over meningitis. Everyone needs to see the contract at the end of this article. dearchurchleaders.substack.com/p/meningitis-m…

@NazaninNour @RoshanaMN Reported 5 have humanitarian visas this morning. And we hope the rest may consider their options.
So essentially it seems the Australian government will protect them with visas here.

Farewell Canada…
Two and a half years ago, I packed my bags and boarded a flight from London 🇬🇧 to Toronto 🇨🇦.
It was the beginning of a new chapter — one I could never have fully imagined.
Tonight, I’m standing in Toronto Pearson International Airport, about to board another flight — this time back home to London. I’m pausing. Reflecting. Feeling the full weight of this moment.
Canada has transformed me.
I worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at London Health Sciences Centre and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Western University. But beyond the titles and roles, what I carry with me is something far deeper — the privilege of witnessing the full spectrum of human emotion, of serving those with mental health difficulties, of growing alongside extraordinary colleagues and unforgettable friends.
I have learned. I have grown. I have been stretched. I have been humbled.
This goodbye is bittersweet. My heart is heavy — because I leave behind friendships forged in authenticity and adversity, friendships I will carry for the rest of my life.
But the wounded healer must wander on.
Canada will always be a part of me. And who knows what the future holds.
As always — protect your minds and protect your hearts.
I’ll see you on the other side.

Signing out — for now.

@jamie_wallis Yeah, I imagine a tough one given how much your patients drop upon you. Glad you’re starting something positive to try and support you. And I’m glad there is a space for medics to do this.

Tomorrow will be the 20th different department I have worked in since becoming a doctor in 2018.
Always feels the same - nervous and apprehensive but also excited for working with new people and in different cultures.
#PED day 1 tomorrow at Monash.

Well... I did it! I spoke at a TEDx event! A life changing reminder that there's life after mental illness. An opportunity to give voice to a young part of me that didn't have one back then. Here's to putting yourself out there, messy, honest & human! #TEDx #TEDxWarrington
