I was under the assumption as a kid, that all parents had their nerdy things. That being a nerd was just, how humans were. Obviously, I learned later I was wrong, but I get OP. I was dumbfounded when it clicked that other ppl had parents who DIDNT like DC comics like mine do

It didn't help that while I'm OBVIOUSLY a fandom nerd my parents really don't read as such. Like yeah, at one point, my dad was a professional hiphop dancer, but he still doesn't PLAY about Lord of the Rings. So I was like. Yeah. Parents are just more lowkey about it.

I know they're coming for your ass OP, but I totally get you. Like my dad has been dming dnd campaigns since he was 14 and my mom has played every Halo game + knows all the lore, so I just thought being a weird geek/nerd was the norm until I got older.
