🇬🇧 BBC series The Capture has sparked controversy for an episode focused on anti-migrant terrorism, featuring a character aiming a sniper rifle at migrant children on a boat. In the plot of the show, counter-terrorism officers become aware of the character through monitoring his online activity. The team discovers a 4Chan account where he posted videos accusing the government of concealing statistics on undocumented migrants. Freedom of Information requests are depicted as a sign of extremism during the episode: one officer alerts her superiors that the man had obtained documents relating to immigration statistics through nine separate freedom of information requests, which is treated as a sign of his impending terrorism.
