We've paid out tens of thousands of dollars to this community via a job sector that was completely and entirely non-existent until I came along. Not to mention, Kled is still available in EVERY OTHER part of Africa, it is just Nigeria that has caused this fraud. If I was racist I would have banned it everywhere. Pipe down. I'm one of the most pro African culture people you will find on Twitter. We could have removed the app from Nigeria in the first 5 days, we caught this fraud within 24 hours of launch, but decided to let it run for 4 entire months until it became literally unsustainable as a business.

We have removed Kled from the Nigerian app store and IP banned the entire region. The first thing I would like to say is I have nothing against Nigeria. I have a ton of friends from this region and these were some of our earliest app adopters. Genuinely, thank you all for the support. Kled has been up and running and out of beta for 4 months now. We have paid out hundreds of thousands of people for their data, and our users have uploaded over 1 billion assets onto our platform. After several months of uploads we found that Nigeria had a ≈95% fraud rate. Instead of real, usable data, users were uploading pictures of black screens, duplicate photos, internet generated images, AI generated images, etc. at an unimaginable scale. In comparison, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines have a less than 10% fraud rate across 10x the userbase size. Our fraud system is fast to catch these issues but the level of complexity of these schemes is getting out of hand. This weekend we were flooded with thousands of fake Japanese passports and identity cards with Nigerians photoshopped onto them in our KYC system. That was the final straw. As a startup we can't afford to eat the costs of that data overhead, so we temporarily removed the app from the region while we improved our fraud detection and banning system to quickly filter out bad actors when the time is right. On top of all of this, every time we make a post there is someone asking us to bring the region back within seconds. We hear you, but it's gotten out of hand. We've made this decision with great care. We love everyone who has genuinely supported Kled from Nigeria, and we hope to return when the time is right. -Kled Team

The UK government deported a father, mother, and their 3 children back to Nigeria after they sold all their properties and even borrowed 20 million naira just to relocate to the UK. Tobore sold his house in Otokutu, his land in Opete, his black Lexus 330, his big boutique shop, and also borrowed 20 million naira to relocate himself, his wife, their two children, and his wife’s late senior sister’s daughter who had been living with them to the UK. When they arrived in the UK, both of them started hustling, but it was his wife, Funke, who got a better job first because she was a nurse, while Tobore was only getting normal warehouse jobs occasionally. After one year in the UK, Funke discovered that Tobore was still chatting once in a while with one lady he used to date when they were still in Nigeria. She got angry and went to the UK Home Office to report that she wanted to remove her husband as a dependant from her visa because she no longer wanted to continue the marriage. Mind you, Funke was the main applicant, while Tobore and the children were her dependants. After her complaint, the Home Office sent an email to Tobore informing him that he had only a few weeks to leave the country because his wife had removed him as her dependant. Tobore, being a typical Warri boy, decided that since this was what Funke wanted to do to him, he would scatter everything completely. Tobore then went to the Home Office and told them that one of the three children Funke declared as their child in the documents they used to enter the UK was not their biological child, and they had not legally adopted the child (which is a very serious offense under UK law). The UK Home Office then invited Funke to come with the children for a DNA test. When Funke heard that Tobore had exposed their family secret, she started begging him for forgiveness and asked him to withdraw the complaint so they could settle it at home, but it was already too late because the UK government was already aware. The DNA result truly proved that that particular child was not related by blood to Funke and Tobore, and that was how the UK government bundled the entire family back to Nigeria. As we speak now, the marriage has scattered. Tobore is now in Abuja driving a taxi, while Funke is in Lagos working as a nurse with a salary of 70k in a private hospital, and the children are staying with Funke’s mother in the village.

Around 2021, This guy got deported from UK after his wife removed him as a dependant from her visa because she no longer wanted to continue the marriage. This was some he trained in school from her University level till she went to UK to further her education. They got married before she left to the UK for her nursing. After some years, the man went to join her there.. She was the main applicant, giving her higher authority over the man in the UK. Everything changed after two years of their stay in UK. She started seeing another man, stopped respecting the man and started demanding that the guy pay all bills. When the guy's mom was sick, he begged the wife to allow him bring the mother to the UK so he can take care of her for a while. That was when the wife went and reported him to the embassy with the excuse she gave and told them she's no more interested in the marriage... The guy got deported at once. Currently his younger brother is in the same UK, making plans on how to bring his brother back. This was one of my friend's brother. They're from IMO state, the lady while is from Anambra State. In this other story, the two of them were wrong but the woman scattered everything with her greediness...
