@ESVSmembership @EJVES_ESVS The profound sadness of losing Janet so suddenly and unexpectedly is overwhelming. Working under her excellent guidance and leadership for the past 15 years has been a great privilege and I will forever be grateful for this time. Her dedication to clinical research to improve outcomes for patients, her work ethic and her deep intellect have resulted in a massive contribution to Vascular Surgery with lasting impact. She was an outstanding and inspirational mentor and I learnt so much from her. As many have said to me since hearing this sad news, Janet was simply irreplaceable. Rest in peace, Janet. You will always be in my heart and memories. I will miss you very much.

In warm memory of Professor Janet T. Powell The European Society of Vascular Surgery is deeply saddened by the news that Professor Janet Powell died on 2nd March 2025. Professor Powell, Professor of Vascular Biology & Medicine at Imperial College, was a brilliant scientist, a compassionate mentor and a dedicated trial investigator whose focus on patient care was always at the forefront of her work. Her fundamental belief in the importance of seeking the best possible outcomes for patients was a pivotal part of so many of the research projects and clinical trials she expertly led. A key member of the ESVS AAA Guidelines Writing Committee, former Chair of the EVSJL Board of Directors and a long-standing member of the Society, it gave us immense pleasure to have dedicated an Honorary Lecture to this remarkable individual in a number of editions of our Annual Meeting. Professor Powell will be missed greatly by so many in our community and we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones.

Our article identifying the lack of routinely reported medium-term, long-term and, most importantly, patient centric outcomes after AAA repair. Difficult ask but how do we improve late outcome reporting? ejves.com/article/S1078-…
