Pinocchio's Nursery

The Early Years boys and girls enjoyed taking part in a baking activity today. They all helped to mix all the ingredients together to make a delicious banana loaf. Yum Yum.

Some of the Early Years and Early Learning children enjoyed a trip to the Gyle to take part in a book bug sessions. They enjoyed joining in with some songs and using the musical instrument to make their own sounds.

The children enjoyed their visit to Build a Bear to choose their new share bear at nursery. Our new share bear will be going home with the children each weekend, the children are very excited for their turn.

Playing outside is fun, exciting and important for children’s learning and development. The great outdoors gives children plenty to explore. They’ll embrace the freedom and space the outdoors gives them to shout, jump, run around, hop and skip. Woodland play is favourite.

The children had a wonderful surprise this morning when they first went out into the garden. Thanks to Ashley and her Husband the children have a fantastic new water wall to explore made out of various loose part tools and resources. 😀

The boys and girls from the Baby Room and Junior Room had lots of fun when Zoe from Boogie Beats came to visit today. They enjoyed dancing and having a boogie with the scarves, following the story of Billy Goats Gruff, exploring the toy box and using the parachute.

The children love to explore all the different sensory experiences that are on offer, building our fine motor control and our hand eye coordination 👍🏼👀

Exploring arts and crafts in the junior room✋🏼👍🏼😊

The Juniors created their paintings using a selection of colours and also used matching coloured lids. The children were able to identify each colour as they took the lid out of the paint and pressed it onto the paper ✋🏼🎨

Michelle and the children made some lovely playdough adding in some different scents for the children to use their senses to explore. Lots of sensory and fine motor skills being developed 👃🏻 🖐🏼

The Juniors had great fun getting messy this morning with the shaving foam.

The junior room children had lots of fun on Tuesday using the chairs for role playing in groups. They pretended to be teachers, train drivers, bus drivers and even pretended to be snakes🐍. Good imaginative plays juniors 👍🏼

yesterday at dance a book the children explored their gross motor control whilst acting out "the big bad fish" story🐸

As part of our school preparation project we are encouraging lots of responsibility. This morning the children took off their shoes independently then muddled them all up before picking out our own shoes and putting them on ourselves. Good job 👟

This week we picked radish from our vegetable garden to add into our food tasting activity to support our senses topic. 👍🏼

Today babies found a spider in one of our toy boxes! We all had a look at how the spider moved around before releasing it back into the garden

Baby / toddlers have been using the corks from our loose parts to make beautiful spring flower paintings 🌸🌼🌺
