It is so wrong to me to have a coach (Brad Gilbert) on ESPN immediately after his player (Coco Gauff) loss at the US Open. It already seems weird to have Cahill and Gilbert on set so much while coaching players. If I was a player, there is no chance I’d be cool with that.

I don’t believe Jannik Sinner is guilty.
No one case is ever the same and trying to make comparisons here with others is a false dichotomy
Sport, especially tennis, is a completely capitalist behemoth on every level.
Yet when it comes to everything else people expect it be run on a socialist system.
Why do companies etc have teams of lawyers/accountants working round the clock for them? To make sure they get the best outcome.
Sinner and his team followed the rules after the tests results, did everything they could do to limit the damage within the legal framework and got the best legal outcome.
That’s life and that’s what this is.

The headline is that Sinner was exonerated…But so many process questions here. (And so many other athletes who would have loved for the details of a positive test to have been suppressed until there was a finding of non-guilt nor negligence….)

If Djokovic (37 yo and less than a month removed from meniscus surgery) somehow beats Alcaraz in Sunday’s Wimbledon final, two things will follow:
1. Djokovic is superhuman and easily the greatest athlete alive (not active, alive).

Cea mai mare greșeală a generației de aur și a fotbalului românesc prin extrapolare, (în afară de catastrofa lu’ Prunea, bine’nțeles), a fost când s-au vopsit blonzi in ’98 după ce câștigasem grupa după 2 meciuri.

Dacă suntem obiectivi, generația de aur a lu’ Hagi (a carei fan sunt) n-a avut cine știe ce rezultate. Sferturi în SUA ‘94 plus ieșit din grupe în ‘98 & 2000, pierdut în primu’ tur. Ciucă bătăilor în grupă în ‘96.

@pishtike I didn’t say they lost on purpose - their manager made a lot of changes to their line-up as they had already won the group and the team played at about 70% thrust…
They didn’t risk any injuries, get unnecessary cards, and got a weaker team in the 16s….

Portugal lost to Georgia because it was the smart thing to do. This way, they get Slovenia in the 16s. Had they drawn or won vs Georgia, they would have gotten the Netherlands. This way, Romania gets the Netherlands.
Big difference…
