@TristanCre8ive @colen_mike52397 And players aren't employees. They are customers. Players arent compensated for being on stream. Which almost makes them actors for a reality show but dont get paid for it.

It really sucks to see this promotional war develop within the WSOP. Players pay their money to play, why should it matter what they promote? Has anyone ever looked at a WSOP broadcast and associated a player’s sponsor with the organizer?

Welcome to May! It’s WSOP month and the 11th year I’ll be running the ODB $500 fantasy league. No expected changes, and thank you to @25kfantasy for hosting again! A lot of early buzz this year I’m expecting this year to be as big as ever.

@rhpMike @dklappin @steveodwyer @WSOP Dealers are paid a flat hourly rate, regardless of number of entrants. Dealers, floors, cashiers, etc are all paid hourly. The staff fee is meant to cover all of those costs. They're not variable. Dealer tips are separate and in addition to their hourly wage.

After public comments from respected players @dklappin and @steveodwyer regarding dealers and fees, I investigated all claims and implications myself. As a representative of @WSOP and player myself, I take funds transparency and taking care of players seriously. I'll address everything below. 1. I'll break down the money flow in our opening event for clarification. For the €1,100 Mystery Bounty. €500 goes to the prize pool, €500 goes to the bounty prize pool, and €100 goes to the venue. The main discussion pertained to the 4% staff fee. This comes directly from the total prize pool. Hence, €40 from each buy-in covers this staff fee. The organization pays everyone involved in putting on our events. Dealers, floors, cashiers, etc. 2. Dealers have not been paid less than was agreed to. They were offered a generous, fixed, hourly rate per their original contract. They have been paid, and will continue to be paid, exactly that amount. We believe the dealer take-home pay compares favorably to other festivals. 3. Local laws require any money removed from the player prize pool be taxed at a rate of 30%. So both the €100 rake and the €40 staff fee are taxed. WSOP/King's pay these taxes. The dealers receive their full hourly rate with no taxes removed. I'm genuinely interested in making sure we do everything in the best way possible. If David, Steve, or anyone else with valid criticisms would like to have a good-faith roundtable on possible improvements, I'm open. Always happy to work together to ensure transparency, openness, and staff protection.

@padspoker Ive always thought making it a pko mystery is way better. Also keep a big bounty saved until FT. Not the biggest bounty but maybe a top 3 ish one.

Was just playing mystery bounty (nut worst poker format) and I thought the following could improve them: 1) 50% of mystery goes to head like a PKO 2) when you pull a “bad” bounty you have the chance to spin wheel (with small rake) to multiply to a “gold” bounty 3) There’s one gold bounty that lasts from the first hand (late regging mysteries are overpowered atm) 4) we delete them and pretend they never existed. Thoughts?

@SavagePoker So if you like to MLR you you can still reg after level 8. If you play from beginning you can reenter until level 5. If you bust after level 5 you can't reenter. But if you haven't played yet you can still reg until level 8

I agree and yes, I also think tournament registration is open WAY too long and unlimited reentry on every event is really bad as well. I’m getting a lot of resistance from many operators but it’s a hill I may be willing to die on.
Dave Nutini@13Nute13

@SavagePoker Have you been in the think tank recently to innovate something that will incentivize players to show up earlier to a tourney? The industry needs something to implement that doesn’t compromise the competitive balance, but still offers incentive to register early.

@kwansfull A common one, think I've even done it, is repeating all in as a question when your opponents goes all in and you weren't expecting it. Not loudly, but I've heard players quietly repeat/say "all in???".

I def trust E-Tay’s assessment that he wasn’t angling, but I’ve also never thought to blurt out someone’s chip stack without preceding it with “can I see your stack”, “how much are you playing”, “you have about…” etc. pretty wild in such a huge spot too.
E-TAY@e_tay

I’ve played tournaments for almost 20 years, I’m very aware I could have made the 9mm stand. Although I know this kids intention was and he was not trying to angle me. BUT it should be a very serious warning to be very careful cause you can be getting freerolled or taken advantage of very easily in this spot. I want to WIN the right way!

@kwansfull What transitioned me to mtt years ago was the the idea of it doesn't matter if you got $400 or $1,000,000 to your name. Tournament was an equal playing ground vs cash reload reload. Now levels 1-8 are like cash game.

@kwansfull Imo the argument for well now players can punt and play wider ranges etc cause can rebuy is misled. There is a huge percentage of players who try to fire least amount of bullets. These players aren't looking to get in their 60-120bbs in level 1-4.

@kwansfull Alot of players are trying to build a roll or make it. So you have your good pros and gambling recs rebuy rebuy rebuy. Everyone in the middle play for fun and trying to make it. If someone has unlimited bullets vs they players not willing to fire ate huge disadvantage.
