Incredible that Sebastian Sawe broke to the 2hr barrier on today’s London Marathon but he wasn’t the only Seb in the race. Sebastian Vettel made his Marathon debut and was the very last interview in the BBC’s coverage .

Always wanted to see the unraced Jaguar XJ13 . Yesterday spotted it in the workshop at the Jaguar Heritage workshop at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. Perhaps a precursor to them running it again.

@simonmhill @TheBishF1 Yea - if BBC hadn’t taken the contract - long story - I might have been famous. Remember back then 1 commentator 10 million viewers . Now 10 commentators and 1 million viewers.

@TheBishF1 Wasn't until later that year that BBC 'Grand Prix' came a regular thing so these highlights were on ITV's 'World of Sport' and voiced by that wonderful man @Pitlaneandy ... Great race on a great circuit with great cars and superb drivers. Thanks Matt 🙏

Dijon ’79 is often hailed as #F1’s best last-lap finish of the ’70s - & so it surely was. But let’s hear it for Kyalami ’78, which thrilling race was fought for wheel-to-wheel by Ronnie Peterson (Lotus) & Patrick Depailler (Tyrrell) #OnThisDay 47 years ago.

@TheBishF1 @f1dutchgp Wonderful photo , so privileged to see him race. Remember standing on inside of Becketts at Silverstone, Jimmy coming through each lap in Lotus 49, front wheel an inch from the wall ( remember those) and a few inches off the deck.

@JennieGow Take the advertising off and we have 60s Team Lotus driver Trevor Taylor’s helmet - except he was in the days of open face . Trevor also had yellow race suit when everyone else had blue. Not sure about drivers changing their helmet designs all the time.

@cheesy_poofs He was so helpful and at ease. But I had interviewed him regularly that season after most GPs for a unilateral TV feed back to Canada. It was only when I was checking through old tapes that I realised I had this.

@ScarbsTech @RetromobileFR Well I counted about 15 Ferraris on Richard Mille’s stand where young Arun was painting. Cars I hadn’t seen in years too - several Matras, Ligiers, the Monaco/Beltoise wing BRM, the 4-w-d McLaren , the Williams FW04 raced by Jacques Lafitte and many more.
