Muhammad al-Durrah, a 12-year-old boy sheltering behind his father during clashes between protestors and Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip, is killed by an IDF bullet. The incident is caught on camera by French journalists and is broadcast around the world. The IDF says that they had been under fire from that direction and they were simply firing back, and they couldn’t see the boy through the dust. Palestinian sources claim that it was a deliberate murder.
