I have a table at the Focus Fair in Peterborough on Saturday Dec 11th. Come say hi & do a little (or a lot) of Christmas shopping!

When taking my daughter to her appt at the hospital, the last thing I want to deal with is unmasked protesters blocking the sidewalk.

On the weekend, I sat my butt down & wrote my first actual blog post in ages. The idea started with a conversation with my mail carrier. It's about the space in between technology & a slower paced life; where Instagram meets the postal service. Read it online then write a letter.

I created a subscription package! Connect with friends & family plus support local #ptbo entrepreneurs. @BriGosselin is supplying handmade notecards @covetcoffeetea is supplying tea @superfluous_box created the logo & letterhead on which I will write the inspiration.

This week marks a couple big life changes for me (more on that later) and this program will line up perfectly. I cannot wait to grow Open Sky Stories and to be part of this beautiful community of women entrepreneurs. What an honour!!

@emscottdesign If it’s non-profit, it can also be due to funding. We’ve been putting out a lot of job ads lately as we revive government funds to hire. Unfortunately they are all temporary contacts and often you cannot hire the same person more than once.

If a company continues to post "Hiring" ads every few months... Is it a red flag, or a sign of their continual growth??

@candaceshaw Last night after a long hot day working outside, I had a beer and chips and dip for dinner. It was also in celebration that both my kids were not home for that 20 minutes. Go for the cheezies and beer!

@aintlifeswells Holy Crap - I just took a chance and kept trying... Peterborough has opened times. My computer kept crashing out of the online system but I was able to reach someone on the phone and both kids are booked at Evinrude for June 15th. There are still spots left if you want to try!

@aintlifeswells I can't for the life of me understand how a city the size of Peterborough and with our increasing positive cases, can not get more vaccines? (PS, I *am* super happy for you and your daughter!)

@amyboughner feel this! I'm thrilled for my friends and family who have been able to book and receive vaccines for their kids. Mine are old enough & one is a front-line worker but we do not have enough vaccines in my city nor was I able to book anywhere & was told to try again Tuesday.

@aintlifeswells I asked and was told there was nothing available. Plus as a single mom without sick days, I'd lose a 1 day pay/child/dose by traveling. I'd do it for sure but clearly only the most privileged can be protected(NOT directed towards you, I'm just frustrated & at least I have a car).

@aintlifeswells they wouldn't even book my kids. And my son is a front-line worker. I'm beyond frustrated!

Why can’t we get more vaccines in Peterborough???

I tried to book vaccines for my kids (15 & 17) but the website hadn’t been updated so I called (at 8)& was told ptbo had not opened spots past June Nor were there appointments anywhere in the vicinity. My son has been working at a grocery store for the past year. @Ptbohealth

I was told to call back Tuesday & hopefully there would be spots. I am willing to drive. But also, I’m a single parent without sick days so driving 2 hours per kid (b/c what are the odds they’ll get appts together) will result in me not getting paid.
