i think alhaitham wants kaveh to stop seeing him as a junior he needs to constantly look out for / protect all the time. he wants kaveh to see him as an equal, to let himself be taken care of too

I think one of the reasons he refrains this much from calling kaveh 'senior' is also because he's aware of how kaveh shows his care through 'seniorism' and he wants kaveh to realize that he 'purely and simply' cares which is a care that's sm more than a senior-junior relationship
