Should tests live alongside the source in src or separately in a e.g. __tests__ folder? If you choose the former, you're missing out seeing when tools render file paths as Markdown 😉

Truth is a knowledge of things as they really are, were, and will be. Truth does not change with conditions or time. Truth is the same in every age and culture. Public opinion is not the arbiter of truth.

Yes, it'd be ridiculously difficult to get joints reliably operable in space. No, I don't think this will be real. Would be amazing to be wrong.

Prior to fram2, many people were concerned about polar radiation. However, it was actually the South Atlantic Anomaly that contributed a significant portion of our radiation dose. A spike is visible each time we flew along ~45°W longitude. By flying in a polar orbit, we actually spent less time crossing the SAA than we would have in a 51.6° ISS-like orbit.

Tim Neutkens from Next.js found a hotspot in React Server Components: JSON.parse with a reviver callback forces a C++ to JS boundary crossing for every key-value pair. His fix landed in React itself. 75% speedup in RSC deserialization. Benefits every React framework. x.com/timneutkens/st…

Having worked on loading code at runtime, this is exciting!

.@nodejs has always been about I/O. Streams, buffers, sockets, files. But there's a gap that has bugged me for years: you can't virtualize the filesystem. You can't import a module that only exists in memory. You can't bundle assets into a Single Executable without patching half the standard library. That changes now 👇

Ever seen night version of the new raptor engines on booste19? Was by the pad and waiting for the moon aligned with the stage ring of the booster, but suddenly it began being lifted up. Then got the chance to shot this unique view. March 12th.

@ShamashAran @statesman "On her way there and back, she was afraid of being pulled over for a traffic stop and detained. But, “I wanted to do things the right way,” she said." Glad to hear the last part! I am a bit confused though, given the context.

Nobody wants to say it out loud but a lot of moms REALLY don't actually want to be at work 40 hours a week. They want to be home with their kids. They were just told that wanting that makes them not successful human beings. A huge, evil lie. We convinced an entire generation of women that the most fulfilling thing they could do was sit at a desk for someone else's company while a stranger raises their kid. Oh, and if you questioned that, you were somehow anti-woman. And then we wonder why kids are anxious, medicated and are struggling in the real world. They were raised by rotating daycare staff and iPads because both parents were too exhausted from working to pay for the daycare to actually parent. I know many families that now have just made the FINANCIAL choice for one parent to stay home, just because daycares costs so much, it's not worth the other parent working. The most important job in the world is raising a stable, healthy, grounded human being. We used to believe that as a society... not sure what happened. Stay home if you can. Stay married if you can. Build something that actually lasts. Your kids will thank you for it. Your grandkids will thank you for it too ❤️

If you use a personal phone/laptop for your work, pay very close attention to this little detail. Iran attackers wipe 200k devices at a company called Stryker. Within those devices appears to be employees PERSONAL devices. The attackers used the company’s MDM software, which is basically IT management software running on everything. It’s an incredibly attractive backdoor to an attacker. I successfully targeted MDM software for several Red Team engagements. It’s… lots of fun :) Anyway, a lot of companies require you to install their MDM software on your personal devices before you can access resources like Corp email. It’s used to keep devices updated, lock things down if they get stolen, etc. The company often promises that they won’t access personal data, erase any personal data, etc. But this is often ONLY POLICY. If a bad actor gains access to the MDM tool, as was the case here, then anything can happen. People should be aware of these risks. I refused to run MDM software on any of my personal devices. The company needs to provide me with hardware if they want that. I personally isolate all corp devices to their own network too. If an adversary can get into the corp laptop, then can then get inside my network… there have been cases of it happening in the past.
