BREAKING: Under the direction of President Trump, the Acting Attorney General has immediately reclassified FDA-approved marijuana and state-licensed marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III. The order signed by Todd Blanche does not legalize marijuana for medical or recreational use under U.S. law. But it does change the way it's regulated to a less strictly regulated classification. It also gives licensed medical marijuana operators a major tax break and eases some barriers to researching cannabis.

Let’s get one fucking thing straight real quick. The idea that cannabis itself is some evil plant that “makes people crazy,” “causes schizophrenia,” or turns you into a psycho is lazy fear propaganda that ignores biology, history, and reality. Your body literally has an endocannabinoid system. I didn’t invent that. A politician didn’t invent that. God, nature, evolution — however you frame it — put it there. That system exists because humans have coexisted with this plant for thousands of years. Cannabis is a seed-bearing plant, not a lab-engineered chemical cooked up to be addictive and profitable. You can’t patent it. You can’t kill it. You can criminalize it, lie about it, cage people over it — and it still grows out of the fucking dirt like it always has. Do people sometimes have bad reactions? Sure. So do they with caffeine, alcohol, SSRIs, opioids, sleep deprivation, trauma, and untreated mental illness. Blaming the plant instead of dosage, context, genetics, and a broken system is dishonest. And here’s the part I actually earned the right to say: I didn’t just “try” drugs. I had relationships with them. I abused meth, pills, and anything else I could get my hands on because I hated myself and didn’t want to live. The one thing everyone told me would destroy me — cannabis — turned out to be the one thing that didn’t. It didn’t cure me. It didn’t magically fix my life. But it helped me stabilize, slow down, sleep, eat, reflect, and choose not to die long enough to rebuild myself. That’s harm reduction. That’s reality. And that story is shared by millions of people who are still alive because they found a safer alternative instead of a body bag. I don’t claim to be a guru or a saint.
