@SwailesRuth The real problem in schools is that they are dealing with too much pastoral stuff. All the stuff that parents used to do is now done by schools. What are parents doing? Fix this and fix the behaviour crisis then schools can get back to their primary purpose - Education.

After leading 41 training sessions, visiting 27 schools and working with thousands of teachers since January, I think I’ve got a fairly good handle on the mood in the profession. Here’s what I’ve observed. Everyone is working flat out. Harder than they’ve ever worked before.

@DavidMcGregorBN Free childcare should be abolished - it’s absurd expecting other people (taxpayers) to pay for YOUR children. That’s YOUR responsibility. Put half the savings into education and use the rest to cut the budget deficit.

Not to be hyperbolic, but this is such a massive change to people’s lives. Tories brought the 15 hours in and refused to fund the 30 needed. Now Labour are providing parents the freedom to return to work.

@henrywinter He’s the most creative England eligible player. Take him to the World Cup then when we can’t unlock the Fra/ Spn/ Arg etc defences, send him on at HT with the instructions “do whatever you want”. He’s miles better than Bellingham. His weakness is defending and consistency.

Trent Alexander-Arnold plays right-back for Real Madrid. Started home and away against Manchester City. He won the Premier League and Champions League at right-back with Liverpool. He’s used to dealing with pressure. He’s taken a decisive tournament penalty. He’s played in the World Cup before. He has occasional defensive deficiencies but he brings a long-range passing skill that few possess. Are England that blessed at right-back that they don’t need Alexander-Arnold? That he isn’t amongst the best 30 outfield players available to Thomas Tuchel?

@benonwine Yes and repeat offenders should be jailed. I’ve no problem with people protesting, placards etc but denying others the right to live their lawful lives is unlawful.

I'm going to put it out there: I miss homework diaries. Planners. Whatever you want to call them. Where students wrote their homework down. Instead of everything being on an app...
