Since 1992, name one senior Ghanaian politician jailed by Ghana's own courts for crimes against the state.
Just one.
The few who went to jail were small fish, prosecuted by the opposing party for political points not justice.
No president. No minister. No party chairman. Nothing.
They investigate each other to score points. Not to fix Ghana and we keep voting like something will change.

🚨 Marcelo: "Before the final against Juventus, no one was eating, and the silence was terrifying. We were terrified because Juventus was a strong team coming in with great confidence."
"Even Cristiano was nervous, but he took the initiative and started eating. He told us: "Am I the only one feeling this pressure in my stomach?"
"So we all admitted we felt the same. We were so nervous, but since Cristiano was the leader, he broke the ice."
"From that moment on we started to relax; he eased our tension with just one question."
"Before the match, he said to me: "Marcelo, we'll win easily. It'll be tough at the start, but after that, we'll wrap it up with ease; trust my words"."
"Those words have stayed in my mind to this day. After winning the Champions League, he came to me and said: "I told you, Marcelo, I told you", and then hugged me."
"I can still picture his expression in that moment, it's unbelievable. In the end, these are the stories I'll tell my grandchildren when they ask me about the greatest player in history."

In my view, SSNIT operates no differently from a Ponzi scheme. An institution of its nature should run on a lean staff of no more than 100, yet its workforce is reportedly approaching 2,000 a clear indicator of bloated operations. The NPRA, which exists precisely to regulate such institutions, has proven utterly toothless in holding SSNIT accountable.
The structural problem is glaring: SSNIT deploys pension funds as investments, uses the investment income to finance its own operations, and supplements that with a portion of fresh contributions, meaning the scheme is effectively dependent on new contributions to service existing pension obligations. If contributors were to collectively stop paying in today, SSNIT would lack the liquidity to meet its liabilities. That is the very definition of a Ponzi structure.
To compound matters, SSNIT consistently favours investments in private, unlisted companies over publicly traded ones, a pattern that raises serious questions about whether pension funds are being channelled to political cronies and associates, yielding negative returns at the expense of ordinary contributors.

SSNIT has been collecting your pension money for 30 years. Ask a retired Ghanaian how much they receive monthly. Then ask your SSNIT director what car he drives.
