Later this evening,I condoled with the family of Wakili Richard Cheruiyot, Chairman of the Export Processing Zones Authority(EPZ) following the passing of his father, Mwalimu John Ketter, at Masaba Village in Chepterit, Nandi County. I conveyed my sympathies to the family and joined them in mourning this loss, while wishing them strength and comfort during this difficult time.

A lady with two kids crossing the road right under the footbridge at Allsops shouted at me, "Wacha ujinga. Unaringa juu uko na hii mkebe?" Mkebe here being my BMW 320i that mostly operates purely on fear. Just because I asked her why she can't use the footbridge putting her kids in danger.

A Ugandan MP pleaded with President Yoweri Museveni after being accused of being a Kenyan. She emotionally begged for his protection, claiming she was an orphan. Nanzala Metrine, the MP-elect for Namisindwa County in Uganda, is facing a court petition in Mbale challenging her citizenship and her eligibility to hold office. She won the January 2026 election with 9,521 votes, beating the runner-up, Masika Apollo, who received 6,196 votes. The petition, filed by Masika Apollo, claims that Nanzala was born in Kenya, does not have Ugandan citizenship under Article 80(1)(a) of the 1995 Constitution, and obtained her national ID illegitimately through NIRA records. "I want you to help me and protect me am an orphan; they have taken me to court in Mbale, saying I am Kenyan, not Ugandan." She cried.

As part of the ongoing efforts to re energize performance and re engineer service delivery across the Public Service, this morning,I held a virtual engagement with the leadership of the State Department for Water and Sanitation, bringing together the Principal Secretary, Board Chairpersons, Chief Executive Officers, and senior officers from national and county institutions across the sector. Water and sanitation remain central to public health, economic productivity, and the dignity of our people. Every day, this sector determines whether households access clean water, whether schools provide safe sanitation, and whether communities are protected from waterborne diseases. This makes performance in this sector visible, immediate, and deeply human. I directed institutions to confront persistent operational gaps that continue to undermine service delivery. These include high non revenue water caused by leakages and illegal connections, weak maintenance culture leading to non functional infrastructure, intermittent supply despite existing systems, and gaps in sanitation management that expose communities to health risks. These are operational issues within our control and must be addressed decisively. I emphasized a shift to citizen centric service delivery. Access alone is not sufficient. Citizens expect water to flow reliably, sanitation systems to function, and service providers to respond promptly. Performance in this sector is measured by outcomes experienced daily in homes, schools, health facilities, and businesses. I also stressed integrity and prudent management of public resources. Reducing water losses, improving maintenance of existing infrastructure, strengthening enforcement, and ensuring accountability across institutions will translate investments into real improvements in service delivery. Closer coordination between national and county actors remains critical. When the sector operates as one system and aligns programmes with the Government’s development agenda, we accelerate delivery and ensure reliable and sustainable services that improve the quality of life for households and communities across the country.
