Norway, Vermafossen Waterfall 🇳🇴 Waterfalls in Norway are not just part of the landscape. Some of them also serve as sources of energy. A hydroelectric power plant has been built at this waterfall as well.

The charming Westgate Gardens is a public garden in the English town of Canterbury, laid out along the banks of the River Stour. The garden follows the course of the ancient Roman city wall, of which no trace remains today. There are numerous boat rental stations along the river. During the summer months, visitors can take a flatboat ride along the river past the garden.

🫖 In the Turkish province of Rize, on the shores of the Black Sea, stands an incredible 29-meter-tall structure shaped like a traditional Turkish teacup - the bardak - which has become a true symbol of the region, rightly considered the tea capital of the entire country. 🍵 Fun fact: Turkey is the world leader in per capita tea consumption - on average, every Turk drinks more than 3 kg of tea per year, and the province of Rize produces nearly all of Turkey’s tea, as its humid Black Sea climate is ideal for growing tea bushes.

🌙 Katara Towers in Doha is an architectural masterpiece consisting of two gracefully curved towers inspired by the traditional Arab dhow sail, inside which two legendary hotel brands - Fairmont and Raffles - share 300,000 square meters of luxury right on the shores of the Persian Gulf. 🏗 Fun fact: although the towers appear as a single structure, each has its own separate entrance, lobby, and facilities - the architects brilliantly solved the challenge of combining two independent five-star hotels within a single building so that guests at each feel as though they are in a completely unique space.

🏛 The Acropolis of Athens is a majestic rock in the heart of the Greek capital, atop which stand ancient temples built over 2,500 years ago, and above all, the jewel of the ancient world - the Parthenon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that continues to amaze everyone who sees it with its perfection. 🔬 Fun fact: The ancient Greeks deliberately built the Parthenon’s columns slightly curved and leaning inward - this optical technique, called “entasis,” creates the illusion of perfect straightness when viewed from below and attests to the remarkable knowledge of ancient architects in the fields of optics and geometry.

🌉 In China, there is a unique village built directly on an ancient stone bridge - the locals have constructed their homes, shops, and even entire streets right above the river, and for centuries they have lived and carried out their daily lives on this unusual “foundation,” seeing nothing out of the ordinary about their location. 🏯 Fun fact: such bridge-villages - known as “Fengyu Qiao” or “wind and rain bridges” - are a traditional architectural feature of the Dong people in southern China. They were built without a single nail, using only wood, and served simultaneously as a crossing, a community center, and shelter from the elements.
