@plaguedbyennui

I find myself perplexed of the absurdity of life and the limits of my existence. I see X as a catalogue of my thoughts, wishes and dreams.

I am interested in meeting new, like-minded people, making new friends, and developing genuine, wholesome connections. My life has been one of solitude, but I hope my stay here could change that.

You cannot think freely in someone else’s language. Every nation that industrialized fast Japan, China, South Korea taught science, law, and governance in its own language. Africa still graduates engineers who can’t explain their work to their own grandmothers.

@peterocky111 @AramideOyekunle Lol. It'll be one guy that'll spend money on all these things while the others would enjoy it. They'd rather buy it for their girlfriends than for their "bros." Brotherhood is really just covert exploitation.

Someone will come tomorrow and ask why young Nigerians are staying away from churches. Young Nigerians grew up reading about Moses, Elijah and even Jesus Christ taking a stand against corrupt and oppressive leadership while Nigerian pastors are either platforming corrupt leaders, subtly supporting them or just ignoring everything being done to their members by them.

@MysticDave_ You can never have a special moment where you philosophise on your lives hitherto and reminisce past experiences while sharing future desires.

even though such an existence may be cruel. I just have to move on, I guess. There are many "fishes" in the sea, even though they might all be camouflaged.

and his "God." I won't say I am better. Self-love as a queer Nigerian is journey of self-acceptance. It is a journey of criticising society, of rejecting the contemptuous things it says about you, of seeing yourself not as the outlier, or a outcast, but as variation of existence

Growing up queer in Nigeria makes you feel disoriented most times because you spent a significant of your childhood years grappling with the eccentricity that defines you. As a teenager, you'd spot, more vividly, the anomalies that estrange you from others, and how you choose-

It is quite saddening that my everyday life makes me feel akin to an impostor, as I exist under a guise of normalcy and conformity.

I am living with the total acceptance that to live life the way I wish to, and not the way society would prefer I do, is to potentially ruin and destroy all connections and relationships with the people, environment, and lived experiences I grew up in.
