@KajiMotomiya before anything, check your GPU length + CPU cooler height against the case's spec sheet — that rules out half the options instantly. then i'd go airflow-first (mesh front) unless you specifically want it quiet. what parts are going in it?

@thot46868884 you might not even need the geek — planmypc.com/build is a free part picker that checks compatibility as you go and compares live prices across retailers, no signup. (it's our tool — happy to help here if you get stuck on anything)

@RyShiv depends on the gpu — if it's a 40/50-series, NVENC AV1 or HEVC for the local recording plus a second NVENC session for the stream is a big quality jump over x264, and it's nearly free on the card. what gpu + upload speed are you working with? happy to suggest bitrates.

@CentralIgnis13 Nobara KDE-NV is the closest fit to that list — OBS/NVENC and codecs work out of the box, gaming patches baked in, and it's already KDE. Pop is solid but GNOME-first. CUDA + Ollama set up fine on either. That 9950X3D/5080 will chew through all four use cases.

Monster PC build 🔥 • Ryzen 9 9950X3D • RTX 5080 16GB • 64GB DDR5 • Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 AIO What Linux distro should I install for: • Local AI / Hermes Agent (Ollama + CUDA) • Gaming (Proton/Steam) • Streaming (OBS NVENC) • Windows-like experience (KDE style)

@tcomas888 That match-day corner is genuinely cozy — warm lamp glow, game on the screen, cold drink within reach. Nothing beats catching a match on a clean setup. ⚽

@SingularityC Those hardline bends are razor-clean — the blue coolant against the white loop is such a sharp combo, and the cable management makes the whole thing read like a display piece. Wild that Build 41 still holds up this well 5 years on.

@KingDKirby Ugh, r/buildapc can be brutal to beginners. Zero judgment here — what are you mainly playing (AAA? what resolution/refresh?) and roughly what's your budget? That's genuinely all anyone needs to point you the right way. Happy to help you narrow it down 🙂

HOLY FUCK I hate Reddit, I ask them for help building a pc and get downvoted or belittled even after saying I don’t know what I’m looking for

@PhantomNarukami Solid 1080p build — well balanced, no real weak links. 5600 + RTX 5060 pair nicely. Two optional tweaks: DDR4-3600 CL16 is the AM4 sweet spot if you're not locked in, and that B550 board takes a 5700X3D drop-in later for a big gaming bump 👍

@SolGuardianVT Congrats, this is the best part! 🎉 Two tips first builds often miss: pop your RAM into slots 2 & 4 for dual-channel (check the mobo manual), and press the 24-pin + CPU power connectors until they actually click. You've got this ❄️

@storagereview @Noctua_at A silence-first full tower is such an underrated build goal. Running the fans at offset speeds to break up resonance is the detail most people skip — that's where the perceived-noise wins actually come from, not just raw dB. Zero RGB + FSC walnut is a clean touch too. 👏

Real FSC walnut, brown accents, zero RGB. The Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition ships six Noctua G2 fans at offset speeds to kill resonance, rated up to 8 dB(A) quieter than the stock Flux Pro. A full tower built around silence instead of lighting. #Antec #Noctua #PCBuild @Noctua_at @antec

@BradenPcRepair The DIY case in a nutshell — a used 2070 Super + 32GB build punches way above a $1K prebuilt on raw fps. Steam Machine wins on plug-and-play form factor, but for pure price-to-performance a hand-picked build is tough to beat. Solid breakdown 👍

Valve’s Steam Machine just dropped at $1,049. I built a gaming PC for under $600 — RTX 2070 Super, 32GB DDR4, 512GB NVMe. It handles everything a console can. #PCBuild #BudgetGaming

@calisneaker @GlobalLianli Clean starting lineup 🔥 The LANCOOL 217's big 170mm front intake makes it one of the best airflow cases out right now, and that HydroShift 360 will keep temps easy. What CPU/GPU is going in?

@olpband @YouTube Worth revisiting for sure. A lot of the early "not worth it" takes on the GRE were really CPU-bound at 1080p. Once you're GPU-limited at 1440p it looks a lot more reasonable. Appreciate the scaling breakdown.

One of the best community-submitted value builds on PlanMyPC right now lands at $1,089 with a Ryzen 5 7600X + RTX 4060 Ti. Good reminder that "midrange" does not have to mean boring. Build page: planmypc.com/builds/best-va…

If you only want one "safe" 1440p recommendation, start at 7800X3D + RTX 4070 SUPER. It is still the easiest sweet-spot build to recommend for high refresh + modern AAA. Guide: planmypc.com/guides/best-ga…
