Huge moment today. The Canada Disability Benefit could take an enormous bite out of the scourge of disability poverty in Canada. Big kudos to Min @CQualtro and PS @Irek_K for all the hard work and fighting to get here. Onwards to Royal Ascent and implementation! #canpoli #cdnpoli

This is an historic day! With this final vote in the Senate, Bill C-22 - the Canada Disability Benefit Act - is now on it's way to receiving Royal Assent. This is the culmination of years of activism from members of the disability community. This is your victory.

The Canada Disability Benefit is an urgently needed lifeline for people with disabilities living in poverty. We can’t end another parliamentary session without enshrining the CDB in law. Read more in our report with @prospercan: bit.ly/ABWB_TW

Very encouraging to hear about a new bereavement training center. Thank you @CdnCaregiving and @mcgillu . At PLAN we focusing more on bereavement and the grief process for people with developmental disabilities and their networks. It's good to continue to learn together.
Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence@CdnCaregiving

It's National Caregivers Days in Canada and we celebrate all those giving care, and those who receive it. Here's a story from Vickie Cammack about the ways natural caring transforms our neighbourhoods and gives us a pathway for hospitality and grace. tinyurl.com/yeytzryw

Canada has the means to end poverty and it is long past the time this should have been done. This article about older adults in poverty is devasting. Too many people with disabilities and their families are in the same situation. #EndDisabilityPoverty

Women in Canada have a higher risk of poverty in their later years compared to men. “I have many women patients who are living in basement apartments… It’s all they can afford,” @SamirSinha tells @MoiraWelsh in @TorontoStar. thestar.com/news/canada/20…

We are living through a time of great revelation, where things that were hard to see or take seriously, are becoming clearer & valued: neighbourliness matters; relationships matter; care matters; place matters; we matter. We can see the community cake now-it looks amazing:
