Muting this now, but I will say that some people forget the completely insensitive remark that Ed made about Al's body and him being "lucky" to have it, which is what ultimately caused him to snap

@Murkthemayor There were better and more empathetic ways to do it, all they really did was guilt trip him into agreeing with them and burying his own feelings for them to never be addressed again in the future

All they did was beat him up and guilt trip him instead of actually try to listen to and talk him through his fears, Winry just shut him down and treated him like some awful person for daring to have a doubt about his existence

I really like that in COS/‘03 Alphonse elric does not have a matching mental age to his body and that Edward often compensates for this by making all the decisions and reassuring al, almost in a motherly way.. he didn’t even tell al that he planned to kill sloth…
