We gladly present our paper on role of viruses in coastal oceans. Viruses lead to retention of nutrients in upper water column and reduction in carbon export which is expected to intensify with climate warming making them an important player. Check here: authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S03…

Back in 1985, Carl Sagan told Congress that continuing to burn fossil fuels will increase global temperature, cause climate change, melt glaciers and ice sheets, and cause sea level rise. His solution: Fewer government subsidies for fossil fuels and use of renewable energy.

“It is estimated that within just 4 million years, and provided humans are completely extinct, biodiversity on the planet may recover fully from the 6th Mass Extinction.  Earth can, and will, continue without humans. Humans cannot continue without Earth” #ecology #amwriting

Tomorrow - 21st June - is #ShowYourStripes day! We encourage people to share their 'warming stripes' - simple visuals that represent observed changes in temperature - and start a climate conversation with friends, family, colleagues or anyone else! See: ShowYourStripes.info
