I know it's irritating, but I'm nearly 80yo and I have been pronouncing it the wrong way all my life. We didn't know about the wrong pronunciation until about 30yrs ago. IfI said 'Lonceston', everyone would wonder where it was. Unless, you're a Taswegian that is!!
