this is like comparing apples to oranges. one game has 0 gear progression through the msq, the other has progression mixed into an mmo that isn’t linear. xiv works because there’s 0 grind required for gearing to raid, just buy crafted and story skip.

Let me offer my perspective, and you’re welcome to disagree. I come from runescape, right? If you started saying things like. I should be allowed to skip RFD and buy barrows gloves. I should be allowed to skip SOTE and go right to priffdinnas. That would undermine progression
