Schools expose children to a range of information. That is the opposite of #indoctrination. Parents who want control of what their kids are taught want the kids' education to be limited to what supports the narrow beliefs taught in the home. THAT is indoctrination!

@Guardboy62 @JohnFraserOS How is it the wrong venue? This is the time when kids are discovering their orientation. I had female friend who knew they were different by grade 5. They had crushes on girls instead of boys. Why should they have to hide and be made to feel like they don't fit.

@JohnFraserOS I agree that LGBTQ+ people have seen plenty of discrimination, but using schools as a platform is simply the wrong venue.

The Pride flag is a symbol of inclusivity and our commitment to stand against hate. It’s 2023 - it should be a standard. It’s important that all students in Ontario feel safe and welcome in their schools. I encourage the Minister to intervene on this important issue.

@heavenlygrl You wake up every day wondering if you will hurt the people you love emotionally or physically. You are a pariah, unable to keep a job or relationship. It's not a life.

@heavenlygrl Hope isn't always enough. Mental illness can be a prison with a life time sentence. Meds fail, therapy doesn't always work and is expensive (and won't be easily accessible in my lifetime). Psychiatric facilities are humiliating and dehumanizing...

@harriet_anders @CBCNews There are people who are drug resistant. Medications can have terrible side effects. A pill is not a fix all for serious mental illness issues.

So the liberal government believes that mature minors should be able to access MAID without parental consent. Minors with terminal illnesses, minors with disabilities and then the next two really grabbed my eye. Minors who are poor or indigenous. Like WTF 😳

In January my boss asked me if I would be interested in switching my role in the bakeshop. Tomorrow I start making restaurant desserts and monitoring desserts for 4 kitchens. I'm nervous, but as I said yesterday, growth happens out of your comfort zone.
