@plogagon @MagnaDarling Ah, my issue with this perspective is I don't assume an AI has free will; I think ultimately his actions are predetermined by whatever algorithms make up his psyche. This idea, for me, is baked into him being an artificial intelligence.

Bc they weren’t thinking about Caine at all 😭 they were resigning themselves to the idea of living together and at no point were they talking about Caine as part of that bc they don’t see him as one of them (rightfully so)

@plogagon @MagnaDarling it's more complicated than that, we see their disposition change upon this reflection so it wouldn't just be accepting staying with caine, they would've rebelled for more independence and less constraints which would've inevitably been incompatible with the way caine processes.

@plogagon The thing is, they may have considered coming to terms with staying in the circus but they needed answers and had no longer trusted Caine now that they know he can alter their minds which is very violating.

The saddest part of episode 8 imo is the fact that they were all finally accepting staying with Caine forever but he was already convinced they were dead set on leaving him and he ended up ruining everything without even knowing it

@MournValley But to me, it seemed they just wanted answers which is completely justifiable and makes sense if they were going to just ‘live’ as Pomni said. Once that issue was confronted, they planned to stay there and there would be no point in not trusting Caine

@plogagon I mean, they were going to accept staying yes, but they would always be wary and distrustful of Caine. That, for me, is the same or worse as leaving because they would treat him as a nuisance at best or a threat at worst.

And yk what else? Everyone (except Jax) was also starting to come to terms with their issues within the circus too. Zooble was starting to accept their body, gangle was starting to like both parts of herself, Pomni and Ragatha seemingly started forming a connection too💔.
