JD Vance took time this week to explain to the British that the murder of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak was actually about immigration. Which must have been an uncomfortable conversation for a vice-president who has built an entire political career on being confidently incorrect about things happening in other people’s countries. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, England’s football squad was busy preparing for the World Cup in Kansas City, Missouri. Nine people were shot near England’s planned training facility and hotel on Troost Avenue at four in the morning. Police arrived to find a large crowd scattering. A second shooting the same evening, just miles away on Troost Avenue, left two people dead.  The Kansas City Police were quick to reassure everyone that the incident “did not occur near a World Cup venue or anything else World Cup-related.”  Which is technically true, in the same way that a house fire next door isn’t technically in your living room. The Americans are hosting a World Cup. They have strong opinions about immigration and British crime statistics. A deputy in Brazoria County, TX, watched a few teenage boys work out in a park a recent evening. When they noticed him, they became worried and left. He followed them back to one of the boys' homes and flipped on his lights. The scared driver pulled into his garage, hoping for help from his dad. The deputy walked up and shot him dead. Trump walking out on Kristen Welker today reminded me of his 60 Minutes interview with Lesley Stahl in 2020. Different interviewer, same result: when he can’t control the narrative, he walks out like the petulant man-child he is. Fucking snowflake.

When Democrats tried in 2020 to get Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin to count early votes early—like Florida—Republicans killed the bills so Trump could win day-of-voting tallies and try to throw out mail in ballots. It’s a scam for people Trump thinks are stupid.

Looks like @BasedMikeLee is getting a lesson in what it’s like for other groups who get the “you don’t belong” treatment that he so enthusiastically supports.
