@removeanime people will still sell even if personalized
that being said peach-pit is a horrible choice that they made, you can literally get their auto for less than $30 lol
omeone is selling the peach pit autograph from last AX at fanime swap for $450, not cool
this is kinda why i think all autographs should be personalized idk
@NazChris_dj And while I would like to get all my autographs directly, it is a reality that I cannot meet all these famous people, even in my entire life. Thus, I have to purchase them from others.
Ideally, I would have as much money and time as I need to go and meet all these creators:)
@NazChris_dj Because Western and JP values are different. In the West, many artists and creators commoditize their autographs, charging money for them as a side income. People there are used to buying and selling autographs.
In Japan, people think it's more taboo as you said.
I have a question for all of you. Among Japanese manga readers and fans, there is a common understanding that autographed shikishi (signed art boards) with a recipient's name written on them should never be resold, or at least are difficult to resell. Therefore, it has become common practice to always write the recipient's name on autographed shikishi. However, it seems that this understanding is less prevalent overseas, and autographed shikishi with recipients' names are readily put up for sale on websites (for the purpose of reselling at high prices). Is this a common occurrence among manga fans in your country?
@NazChris_dj For me, if I got the autograph directly for free, and I respect the creator, I will not sell it. If I purchased it from someone else (it has someone else's name), I may sell it.
@NazChris_dj And when things sell for a high price, more people will sell since they need money. You can never really kill the resale market unless you either sign as much as possible, or never sign at all.
@NazChris_dj This is why shikishi put up for sale in Japan usually have the personalization censored/removed. In the end, if the creator is popular, there will be demand for their autograph, and so the less they sign and the less people sell them, the higher the price.

@smowlcat@Ped_Patrol@jaycarnicomdap@MrDrPepper30 I don't know, bro. Shit sucks. I just think we should try to follow the law and not have vigilante justice
Yeah, if what this article says is true (not familiar with it), then the judicial system has failed the victim(s)
Here is a chance to win a Nintendo Switch Employee only copy of Celeste. There were only 50 made and the difference is the entire cover is foil instead of select areas.

@bigvalleyblue yea i met lawyers, quant traders, software engineers all over the world that i could meet in person through discord
i wish i was born earlier to see the era of ircs, skype, and forums though
Discord has easily been the highest ROI app in my life. I learned minecraft there, got into college, met my cofounder (4 yrs ago), found a customer, hired, all thanks to discord, and now our entire company basically runs on the app lol. Never bet against discord
