Is it true that economists being too hard on each other as assessors contributes to our poor ARC outcomes? The answer is likely *yes*. Is it the case that reviewer 'fixed effects' remove this issue? My reading of the ARC rules is *no* #ausecon 1/3






Healthcare inflation is estimated to be ~4% (increasing population, people living longer, iller for longer, increasing drug cost etc). So average annual increases in NHS budget every year since 2010 has been a real-term cut.
