Tsunamis are seismic sea waves that are generated by undersea movements. The wavelength of a typical tsunami is 200 km or 125 mi long and they behave as shallow water waves. Causes of tsunamis include: earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes, the atmosphere, and other unknown causes.
