人類が何千年もかけて翻訳機械と通信網を育て、ようやく言語の壁を越えた先で交わしている会話が、
思想の統合でも恒久平和でもなく、肉をどう焼くか、銃はどう扱うか、車はどれがいいか、だった。
でも、たぶんそれでいい。
人は崇高な理念だけでは繋がらない。
火の扱い方、身の守り方、移動のしかた。
つまり生活の核にある話題こそ、文化圏をまたいで最後まで残る共通語なんだと思う。
バベルの塔の後に人類が失ったのは、単に同じ言葉ではなく、同じ日常だったのかもしれない。
だから再会したとき最初に始まるのが、いちばん地に足のついた生活談義になるのは、むしろ自然なんだよね。
しかもこのポストのすごいところは、そこに日本の神話感覚まで重ねてること。
唯一神が見たらひっくり返りそうな光景も、八百万の神の国では「まあそういう日もある」で処理される。
世界史的には大事件なのに、日本語にかかると妙に日常の延長になる。
この壮大さを生活に着地させる感覚が、いま日本のネットの強さだと思う。
言語の壁を越えた先に待っていたのは、高尚な理想の一致ではなく、生活感の国際化だった。
そしてたぶんそのほうが、ずっと本物だ
