Punjab National Bank linked someone else’s NEW bank account to MY phone number without my OTP, consent, or verification. I started receiving transaction alerts, debit card updates, and even courier calls for their ATM card. When I complained, they didn’t properly fix the issue. They just disabled the SMS alerts. This is a serious banking security concern. Thread 🧵

Punjab National Bank has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Government e-Marketplace to enhance financial access for sellers on the platform. As part of this collaboration, PNB has been onboarded as a lending partner under the GeM Sahay initiative. On behalf of the organisations, Sh. Ajit B. Chavan, Additional CEO and Chief Seller Officer, GeM, and Sh. Atish Kumar Rout, GM - DBTD, PNB, signed the MoU. This partnership enables eligible sellers to avail unsecured, short-term credit against their GeM purchase orders, thereby addressing critical working capital requirements in a timely and efficient manner. The integration of financing within the procurement ecosystem is expected to streamline credit access, improve liquidity and support seamless order execution. The initiative is particularly aimed at empowering MSMEs, startups and other emerging enterprises by reducing financial constraints and fostering greater participation in public procurement.
