Sisters RD firefighters will conduct a 67-acre understory prescribed burn 2.5 miles SE of Sisters adjacent to FS Road 4606 on Thursday if favorable conditions persist. Ignitions will begin around 10 a.m. and continue into the middle of the afternoon. centraloregonfire.org/2022/02/08/sis…

🔥Sisters Ranger District firefighters will ignite piles in the Melvin Butte area today (2/8). Smoke may be visible for multiple days following ignitions. Firefighters monitor piles until they are declared out.

Ignitions have begun on the jackpot juniper burn on the Crooked River National Grassland. Firefighters are anticipating 261 acres of hazardous fuels removed, which will also improve deer winter range and water availability.
