If anyone wants to send flowers 💐 to Dr Claire Taylor, let me know. I am in touch with someone who has her address. It can’t be shared for obvious reasons but they can send a bunch on our behalf. Would involve using PayPal to cover the cost.

The brain's cleaning system can be boosted to rid Alzheimer's proteins A duo of drugs that boosts our glymphatic system, which clears waste from our brain, also improves the removal of proteins associated with the onset of Alzheimer's disease newscientist.com/article/252084…

@LauraCayuela7 @Moooonflash Or migraine as I've recently discovered! "It explains the 100 neurological symptoms you are experiencing. What's that you say? Its not a good explanatory fit for x, y, z, & you have papilloedema & empty sella? If it's not migraine it's definitely FND" 🙃

Everything is FND in the world of neurology. Tics? FND Vertigo? FND Dizziness? FND Tremors? FND Seizures? FND Can't walk? FND Limb weakness? FND Sensory issues? FND Speech problems? FND Learning about ME, LC, POTS, SFN, MCAS etc? No! they're busy diagnosing everyone with FND.
Rhi@rhirhiarhii

The audacity to say my neck issues causing vertigo and dizziness, bobble heading were FND. Just as well it was my last appointment with them However they did help pain management so fml also

@Starseeker1986 @TraceyABurgess I'm really sorry mate. Sounds like you have a really good team trying to help you. But just awful that you can't tolerate any treatment. I hope a solution is found.

What?!!! Do other parts of the UK have Lipid Clinics? And is this what others have been told that their hyperlipidemia is caused by inflammation? Lord. We have no access to services for dyslipidemia, MCAS, dysautonomia, in my part of the UK. Can't even access a cardiologist

@YouAreLobbyLud They have differing modes of action & cause slightly different adverse events, but many of us have suffered from all of them. Please don’t downplay the severity of vaccine damage, most of us are heavily pro vax, we took it willingly & with pride, but we have suffered lasting harm

Harriet Carroll: Long Covid Scientific Consultancy
He's too modest to say but @DeansKevin was awarded with this medal for a keynote lecture on GLP-1s I see him for nutrition/electrolyte issues, & hands down he's the best doctor I've ever had. He listens, cares, reads research. I feel like we're a team. Well deserved i think 🎉👏🏻

Profoundly disappointing news. There can be no justification for this delay. It simply would not be tolerated for any other medical condition. I urge @wesstreeting to reconsider and take steps to bring healthcare for ME patients into the twenty-first century.
#MEAction Network UK@MEActNetUK

The @DHSCgovuk have paused action on commissioning a specialised service for very severe ME/CFS until April 2027 at earliest. This isn’t acceptable @wesstreeting! Sign up for our mailing list meaction.org.uk/sign-up for more news. #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis #VerySevereME

@Naomi_D_Harvey Oh interesting! I previously wondered about this so thanks A slight tangent - would be interesting to see 2 day C-PET in people specifically w AAI/CCI/Chiari/TC. But if it hasn't been done I imagine it's because the numbers are too small & patients too severely impacted

This confusion happens because the term PEM, which was made for describing the unique phenomenon experienced by pwME, has been taken by others using **really weak** definitions of it, and applied to those who experience any post exertion fatigue or symptom worsening.

@NeleHelena It's a fantastic documentary & great it was shown It's always the same though eh? Can't communicate anything about severity of ME, LC, or post-vac, without wheeling someone out to undermine it

So in Belgium they screened the German ME documentary "Chronically Ignored" at a major documentary festival last weekend. And they invited two of our most prominent biopsychosocial doctors to comment on it 😳

Excited to get this out in preprint: triple-blind, placebo-controlled microtesla magnetic therapy (MMT) is safe, feasible and effective in reducing cognitive impairment in people with #LongCOVID. I get excited about interventions for cognitive symptoms medrxiv.org/content/10.648… 1/

Over the past week, we’ve seen many photos of students receiving their antibiotics & MenB vaccines… …and healthcare workers have always been masked (only surgical masks, but at least they were masked). However, as of yesterday, something has CHANGED… facebook.com/share/p/1BTh9z…

I also worry about the healthcare workers administering the vaccines, coming into close contact with hundreds of students who may potentially be carrying the meningococcus bacteria. Loose-fitting surgical masks do NOT provide adequate protection against aerosol transmission.

@BajanPAMD @amyboylanwrites @_CatintheHat @1goodtern Nothing has been learnt from the pandemic. Used to happen to me a lot in med appointments. Seems they wanted a fresh mask before entering. After some debate they'd usually accept I don a surgical mask over my FFP3 or (less often) swap to new individually sealed FFP3

@_CatintheHat @1goodtern Our son is a Kent uni student. On Tuesday last week he received the antibiotics; on Thursday, last week, the vax (such a relief). We r v grateful for the huge effort made by the NHS staff. But y the policy: our son was made to remove his K95 mask & don a surgical mask!

@Gmwetz @VsLongcovid There’s been a few in cadavers after pwME have died but not many. Sophia Mirza is a good example of this: “an autopsy by an independent neuropathologist found Sophia's spine contained massive infection”

This is the crux of the issue. This is why aerosol spread is not being mentioned re: MenB. It’s why IPC guidance doesn’t recognise aerosols re: Covid. Acknowledging it means having to do something about it and they just aren’t willing to try. They would rather cover up & lie.
holocene@holo_cene

this is an actual member of the WHO, peter collignon, talking here. i think this is very telling. of course, droplet and close-contact transmission theory IS very convenient. much easier to manage. but it’s not because something is convenient that it’s a scientific fact.

I’m so tired of this “but medical professionals would never do that…” & medical professionals choosing to throw patients under the bus instead of calling their colleagues out for the BS If yall would listen to what people are telling you, yes…they would & DO this shit to pts
