Man United’s women’s side had to spend £3,000 on new boots from a nearby shop in the hours before their Champions League qualifier loss in Norway last night. Staff managed to lose a bag containing most of the players' boots on the way over to Scandinavia, which would have left them shoeless had Torshov Sport store not been open. The owner of the shop said: “They bought about 13 to 15 pairs of football boots and 20 pairs of shinpads. “We were surprised when they came into the shop, particularly one of the biggest clubs in the whole world to buy football boots. We just sell football boots to local players. It was very cool.” [Per The Athletic]
