Enjoyed marshaling at @pocketparkrun this morning. Had a lovely spot by the river and went for a delicious breakfast with the other volunteers afterwards. A lovely way to start the bank holiday weekend. ❤

Local running legend Rodrigo Santos incorporated Pocket parkrun into his 6th marathon in 6 days this morning while raising money for Motor Neurone Disease. He completes a week of marathons in Leeds tomorrow: justgiving.com/fundraising/ro…

At today’s Pocket parkrun we were visited by dignitaries from up the A1 @johnmbrampton and @stevogreenall

The stars aligned this morning when we had the whole Pocket parkrun core team volunteering together, having delivered over 30,000 5k runs for more than 6000 runners.

Dave Hudson takes down the Pocket parkrun course record with a 15:36, also setting an over 40s record.

Reports are coming in that A8000000 (the 8 millionth registered parkrunner) has Pocket parkrun as their NENDY (and therefore probably their home run too). 🤞

Last night the Pocket parkrun core team met to review our emergency procedures. We also drunk some beer.

@Becky_E_Morris You are very welcome Becky - you can run or walk as much as you like, there is no pressure to set a fast time. We can’t wait to see you.

Decided to register for the @pocketparkrun next weekend. I'm honestly not sure if I will be able to run the entire 5k but I can always walk some of it if it I get tired and might still get a decent time. I'm so excited to give this a go! ❤

We’ve heard that the runner is comfortable in hospital and expected to make a full recovery.

The runner has been taken to hospital, accompanied by family members. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Thank you to everyone who helped,our wonderful NHS, and our level headed volunteer team who calmly executed a response to our first proper emergency (especially Jo as RD).

Unfortunately we had a runner collapse at the finish of Pocket parkrun who later required ambulance attention. Luckily we had a paramedic and an NHS Nurse at the finish who were able to provide immediate attention, until the ambulance arrived (thank you Ian and Becky). .

We’ve heard that the runner is comfortable in hospital and expected to make a full recovery.
