Multiple industrial snow removers with fleets of dump trucks to haul snow off of Providence streets worked all night and will continue to remove snow around the clock in the days ahead. The parking ban remains in effect so those crews can effectively clear streets.

The major nor’easter is coming to an end, here are updated storm reports from the past two days. As of 3 AM EST, the highest snow amount was reported at T.F. Green International Airport (Warwick, RI), with a total of 37.9 inches, which would be the state record if verified.

Providence officers are out across every neighborhood today helping spread the word about the citywide parking ban taking effect at 3PM. With increased tow capacity in place, this parking ban will be strictly enforced to ensure our Department of Public Works can safely and efficiently clear snow. Please move your vehicles ahead of time, use approved off-street parking locations or park at the Convention Center and help us keep roadways accessible for plows and emergency responders. Thank you for your cooperation and for doing your part to keep Providence safe.
